At Jasmine Dance Academy, we are committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of all our students. Safeguarding is at the core of everything we do, and we follow strict procedures to protect our students and ensure they feel safe and supported.


Purpose & Scope

This policy is designed to ensure the welfare and safety of all children under 18 years of age who attend Jasmine Dance Academy. We are committed to preventing abuse and promoting the well-being of our students.

  • Scope: This policy applies to everyone within the academy, including staff, volunteers, students, and parents.

  • Collaboration: We work closely with local safeguarding teams to address the needs of children and adults, identifying and responding to any concerns.


Our Beliefs & Responsibilities

We believe that every child has the right to be protected from harm and abuse. We aim to create a safe environment where all students can thrive, learn, and develop.

  • Children should never experience abuse of any kind.

  • We have a responsibility to promote the welfare of all children and young people, keeping them safe through our policies and practices.

Our Safeguarding Commitment

At Jasmine Dance Academy, we are committed to the following principles:

  • Some children may need extra protection due to previous experiences, communication needs, or other factors. We ensure additional safeguards are in place for these students.


Safeguarding Practices

To safeguard our students, we implement the following practices:

  • Respect & Listening: We value and respect all our students, creating an environment where concerns can be shared openly and safely.

  • Safeguarding Lead: We have a designated safeguarding lead to oversee our policies and procedures.

  • Training & Support: All teachers and volunteers receive training on safeguarding best practices, so they can confidently protect our students.

  • Background Checks: Every teacher and volunteer at Jasmine Dance Academy undergoes an enhanced DBS check before working with children.

  • Safe Environment: We ensure a safe and supportive environment for both students and teachers, complying with all health and safety regulations.

  • Access to Help: We make sure students and their families know where to go if they have concerns and that they are supported through the appropriate procedures.

  • Confidentiality: We handle all personal information related to safeguarding with the utmost care and in compliance with data protection laws.
