Code of Conduct

Effective April 2025

At Jasmine Dance Academy, we’re committed to creating a respectful, supportive, and safe environment for every student. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for behaviour, safety, and communication across all classes and activities.

Behaviour & Discipline

Students are expected to behave respectfully and kindly towards teachers, classmates, and volunteers at all times. Disruptive or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.

Inclusion & Anti-Bullying

We are committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive space for everyone:

  • Bullying, harassment, discrimination, or exclusion of any kind will not be tolerated.

  • We celebrate diversity and aim to ensure all students feel welcomed and supported.

  • Any concerns should be reported to the office or our safeguarding lead and will be addressed.

Drop-Off & Collection

  • Parents/guardians must stay with their child until the teacher invites students into the studio.

  • Responsibility for students begins once they are in the studio.

  • Prompt collection is essential. If you are running late, please inform us via email.

  • If someone else is collecting your child, please notify us in writing beforehand.

Personal Property

  • Students are responsible for their own belongings.

  • Jasmine Dance Academy is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

  • Any items left behind will be kept safely until claimed.

Payment & Fees

  • Full details of our payment policy are available in our Terms and Conditions.

  • Fees are invoiced each half term and must be paid by the due date.

  • Admin fee will be waived if paid early.

  • Non-payment may result in your child being withdrawn from classes.

Uniform & Presentation

  • Uniform guidelines are provided in your welcome email or during the enquiry process.

  • Uniforms should be in place within three weeks of full enrolment.

  • Ballet: Hair must be in a neat bun.

  • All other classes: Hair should be tied back and kept off the face.

  • No jewellery (except small stud earrings) for safety.

  • Correct footwear is required: e.g. ballet shoes for Ballet, bare feet for Contemporary.

Attendance, Injury & Illness

  • Consistent attendance supports student progress and class continuity.

  • Missed classes are non-refundable. Where possible, a make-up class may be offered within the current term, subject to availability.

  • Students who feel unwell, have a contagious illness, should not attend class.

  • Parent/guardian must inform the office of any injuries or health concerns that may affect a student's participation.

  • Students recovering from an injury should only return with medical clearance.

Punctuality

  • Students should arrive on time for class.

  • Late arrivals disrupt the class and may miss warm-up, which is important for safety and performance.

Social Media & Consent

  • Photo/video permissions are collected during trial or enrolment.

  • If consent is given, images may be used on our website, social media platforms, or promotional materials.

  • Students or parents/guardians must not share photos of other students online without their parent/guardian’s consent.

Safeguarding, Data Protection & Health and Safety

We have dedicated policies to ensure the safety and rights of every student. Please review these on our website:
